Delicate Wings Paper Pumpkin Kit!

Posted on

Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription kit with a craft project and everything needed to create it all in a small box. These kits are typically cards but sometimes include treat boxes, home decor, etc. The April 2024 Kit was called Delicate Wings and it was gorgeous!!!

Delicate Wings Paper Pumpkin Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This was probably the easiest card in the kit but it is my favorite! I love how the wings pop forward and the stunning gold!! Of course the greeting melts my heart and I just love that too. This card would be perfect for a sympathy card or just a card sent to a friend or family member letting them know you care.

April 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is my second favorite because I love the the colors. Again, the greeting warms my heart and I feel like I could send this to a lot of different people in my life. A friend who’s husband is traveling for work and she’s single parenting the kids all week. Friends who have a kid graduating high school and worried about that next step. Someone who is looking for a new job. That person who recently lost a loved one. Someone who has recently found out these have been diagnosed with something. I’m telling you, nothing beats a handmade card knowing someone cares about you.

While this is the last one I’m sharing, it certainly is not my least favorite. I honestly LOVED this kit very much! I love the gold accents (and I’m technically a silver/white gold girl)!! Butterflies are so beautiful and uplifting in my opinion! These greetings are ones that I will hold out and use often! They are just so heart warming!!!

Claire's Paper Pumpkin Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Of course, Claire and I did this kit together and here are her cards that she created! She is almost 6 years old and she enjoys Paper Pumpkin as much as I do! These kits are really amazing for all ages!

20th Anniversary!!!

Posted on

Today is my 20th Anniversary with Stampin’ Up! I am so surprised and emotional about this because Stampin’ Up! has changed my life so much and added so much joy to my life!!! I can soooo thankful for going to that workshop in college!!!

20th Anniversary with Stampin' Up!, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I signed up in college after attending my first workshop that a college roommate invited me too. She said, “you are a scrapbooker, let’s go!” I was game for any way to procrastinate on school stuff. My mind was blown on all of the goodies. I fell in love with alphabet stamps because then I would have endless letters rather than having to buy sticker sheets. My first product was my Starter Kit! I wanted the discount. Throughout college, I mostly bought for myself but sold to a few fellow scrapbookers too!

When I graduated college, I moved to Edwardsville and reached out to the local library. I started doing classes there and my business really took off from there. Craft fairs (which I no longer do), library classes, classes in my apartment (and now home), and various other events along the way kept me active and loving what I was doing. I had a full time job at a hotel during this time but that went south after while. After a year or so I looking for another job, I finally threw in the towel and we decided it was best for me to quit that job but keep looking. During this time, I started doing classes and events during the day and eventually I quit looking for another job! And now here I am still doing Stampin’ Up! full time!!!

I love the creative outlet it gives me. The flexibility that I have had through the moves, life changes, kids, etc. has been amazing! It’s crazy to see how much Stampin’ Up! has changed and also how much I have changed over the years! I’m loving what I do and sharing what I love! You can check it all out on my YouTubeFacebook, Pinterest, Etsy Page, and here on my blog!!!

Be sure to follow me for inspiration, fun, and details about upcoming events!! I would love to stamp and share creativity with you for the next 20 years! Also, if you are interested in joining Stampin’ Up!, click here to join the fun! You can also celebrate with me by placing an order with the Hostess Code: CHJXMVEB to get a 20th Anniversary Special from me. You will also get the Free Gift if your order is over $75!!! Retreat Recap!

Posted on

WOWZA! I had my Spring Retreat this past weekend and it was amazing! Not as many people this Spring as we had in the Fall but still a wonderful time! Here’s a little retreat recap!

Retreat recap, www.LaurasStampPad.com

So the theme for the Spring Retreat was SWEETS! I used the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle. The Lighter Than Air Designer Paper (retiring soon) and all of the embellishments (ribbons and dots) were the perfect Spring colors for a fun and fresh look! I love how the images and greetings in the Ice Cream Swirl set fit perfectly for my treats too! Each place setting had a cookie, a name tag, and the Rainbow Gems! I used the greeting “Hope Your Day Is Sweet” as a tag on the gems/cookie! The details on the die cut cone are pretty fabulous too! I love how those turned out and I used various colors for the ice cream!

For the “big prizes” each person got a reusable grocery bag with a tag saying “Make A Wish” and there was a donut on the backside! Inside the bag was the NEW CATALOG!!! That greeting was perfect in many different ways! 😉 They also got their choice of an item (stamps, embossing folder, dies, paper).

I probably should have used the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle for the Make and Takes too but I went with new In Colors and Product instead. Just a little sneak peak for the attendees and I couldn’t resist!

We all enjoyed the day together working on various crafts – coloring, card making, scrapbooking, digital scrapbooking, and more! I took a few projects and felt like I did a little bit of all of them and finished none of them. Oh well, I had a wonderful day out of the house with my friends! It was perfect!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 9th which is when the Fall Retreat will be!!!! Hope to see you then!

Layered Squares!!!

Posted on

So many times we create a project and end up with leftover scraps. If you are like me….and most crafts, you don’t throw away scrap designer paper or scraps of anything for that matter. Am I right?!? Here is a fun way to use those scraps in these fun layered squares cards!

SUPPLIES & MEASUREMENTS:

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock – 11” x 4 ¼”
  • Misty Moonlight Cardstock – 8 ½” x 5 ½”
  • Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper – (3) 1 ½” x 1 ½” squares and (2) 2” x 2” squares

CARD INSTRUCTIONS:

Stamp greeting and decoration as you wish. I used Night of Navy Ink for all. Adhere squares of designer paper in any pattern that you like! For darker card bases, stamp greeting onto Basic White scrap and punch out with the Lasting Label Punch (or punch/die cut of your choice). Adhere to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the card with twine, simply wrap the twine around your fingers to create loops and then place on the backside of the punched greeting, securing with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Embellish as desired. Feel free to decorate the inside of the card with stamping or additional scraps of the paper!

For more fun cards using scraps like this layered squares card, check out the video tutorial here or get the card tutorial!

Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription kit with a craft project and everything needed to create it all in a small box. These kits are typically cards but sometimes include treat boxes, home decor, etc. The March Paper Pumpkin Kit was just beautiful and the cards have greetings that I can use right away!

March Paper Pumpkin 2024, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I think this card is my favorite from the Memorable Meadows March Kit because it shows off the beautiful flowers so well! The greeting is perfect for a #happymail card to send any time. Pop this card in the mail to a friend, a relative you haven’t seen in awhile, your mom, your co-worker, your neighbor. Just a little note to brighten someone’s day!!!

Memorable Meadows Paper Pumpkin Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is super fabulous because honestly it could be for a man or a woman. That wooden accent really adds a fun element of texture without being bulky on the card! While the colors do include purple, it’s a beautiful sky/scenery look and I just love it!!! Plus you know how I feel about a scrolly font…..LOVING this one!!!

Heartfelt Thanks Paper Pumpkin Card, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I love this card too but honestly I was super sad to cover up so much of the scenery with the greeting and wooden element! It’s just so beautiful! It’s all good though! I use a lot of Thank You cards for my amazing customers so I’m sure this one will be used right away! Teacher Appreciation is also coming up soon and I have 3 teachers to spoil so this just might go to one of them!

Claire and I really enjoyed putting this March Paper Pumpkin kit together! I think she gets more excited about Paper Pumpkin arriving then me. It is always a wonderful time that I get to stamp with her. Keeping the mess somewhat to a minimum is nice since the kit comes with everything we need! Crafting with her is super special and something I look forward to! Be sure to sign up for the April Paper Pumpkin Kit so you can enjoy the fun craft either alone or with a friend or family member! Sweet Springtime!!!

Posted on

The February Paper Pumpkin Kit was called Sweet Springtime and it was just that. Bunnies, flowers, Easter greetings, and a little chick just scream Spring and I love it!!! Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription kit with a craft project and everything needed to create it all in a small box. These kits are typically cards but sometimes include treat boxes, home decor, etc.

Sweet Springtime Paper Pumpkin Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

This card is sooooo cute! You could always change up the greeting if you don’t celebrate Easter! The bunnies are precious. I love how the die cut daffodils are layered over the top of printed daffodils for a really nice layered look. Add that thin white border was tricky since it’s really thin. The provided Glue Dots work best but you could always use your favorite liquid glue as well!

Ummmm….the cutest ever! I love this card! I was super bummed that the greeting went right over the yellow flowers (same at the top of the flower ring). Putting the greeting in a different spot went through my mind but I couldn’t find a place I liked the same. Oh well, it’s still so fabulous and it’s a fun slimline card!

Easter Bunny Treat Box, Paper Pumpkin, www.LaurasStampPad.com

The Sweet Springtime Kit included 3 each of the cards above as well as 3 of these little bunny boxes. They are like little milk cartons and perfect for adding a little treat in it for Easter or Spring! My biggest tip is to fold and burnish each of the score lines so it pops together super easy!

If you would like to sign up for the March Paper Pumpkin Kit, click here! Sneak peak……it includes a FREE extra stamp set in celebration of Paper Pumpkin’s birthday!!!

Also, don’t forget that Sale-A-Bration ends on Thursday so don’t delay on stocking up on goodies and earning FREE STUFF! You can also purchase pre-paid Paper Pumpkin Kits and earn Sale-A-Bration goodies!!! Click here to shop!

Happy Houseplants!!!

Posted on

I….We recently did some upgrades to our downstairs bathroom! This is the one off Laura’s Stamp Pad! Years ago we painted it and now we redid the flooring and trim! We used a peel and stick which I’m not sure I would recommend. I also painted all of the trim and the door white which I love! It was also time to add something to walls! The Happy Houseplants Kit came out while we were doing all of this and it’s PERFECT!!!

Happy Houseplants Kit, www.LaurasStampPad.com

I was so excited when this Kit Collection came out in January! Normally I stick to card kits but this one was perfect for the bathroom walls! It’s basic so it matches any decor. It’s really simple and quick to creates especially if you remember to put the mat in while assembling! LOL

Home Decor Succulent Frames, www.LaurasStampPad.com

Each of these plants is created with Stampin’ Dimensionals so you all know how excited I felt about that. 🙂 I love Stampin’ Dimensionals and the way they make these plants look so real is just amazing! TIP: Don’t be a Stampin’ Dimensional over-user like I am! If you use too many they overlap each other and it pops up too much! Also, be sure to put the basket or pot down first. I added the leaves first on one of them and realized it was wider than the pop and I had to pull them back off. Opps!

Also, MAKE SURE TO ADD YOUR MAT! This kit took me longer because I had to pull all the little tabs back up again and add the mats in after they were finished! Otherwise I would say it took me like 15-20 minutes so very quick!! I love it!

How Many Die Cut Pieces?!?!

Posted on

Normally I don’t like to die cut a lot. Punches are more my jam because it is quick and simple. Then a blue moon happens and I go crazy! LOL Count all the die cut pieces I used on this fabulous card! There are 14 all using the Gone Fishing Bundle.

Die Cut Pieces, www.LaurasStampPad.com

SUPPLIES & MEASUREMENTS:
Pebbled Path Cardstock – 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scrap for die cutting
Mossy Meadow Cardstock – scrap for die cutting (~4 ¼” x 5 ½”)
(2) Basic Vanilla Cardstock – 4” x 5 ¼” and scrap for die cutting

CARD INSTRUCTIONS:

Die cut Mossy Meadow Cardstock with the rounded edge rectangle one from the Gone Fishing Dies for the tackle box base and add to the card front. Die cut Basic Vanilla (4” x 5 ¼”) with the tackle box outline die and adhere to the Mossy Meadow. TIP: Use all of the vanilla rectangles for the greetings on other cards.

Stamp lures, fish, and greeting of your choice onto the scrap Basic Vanilla in Pebbled Path Ink, Calypso Coral Ink, Mossy Meadow Ink, and Boho Blue Ink. The long bobber was die cut with Pebbled Path, Basic White, and Pumpkin Pie Cardstock. The hooks were done in Pebbled Path Cardstock. Adhere these to the card front in the tackle box flat or with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

While this isn’t a card I would make a lot of, it was super fun to create for someone special! If you would like to check out more cards using the Gone Fishing Bundle, check out my entire tutorial here! You can also watch the video tutorial here!
